Man/Boy

Man/boy is a character that evolved with each appearance. He first appeared in the 'Perception is Wild' video performance (2009). After that, he continued his course in 'Hair as Long as River Becomes Water' (2012), idealized as the sequel to 'Perception is Wild'. His last appearance was in 'Deja Vu' (2012).

In all three projects, we follow Man/Boy's journey that secretly resonates a ritualistic procession, every visual element is a character that moulds and unbalances the initial storyline. As Man/Boy walks towards the ocean, accompanied by the 5 Old Ladies, he approaches the border between the sand and sea. He stops, looks at the horizon and sees Goddess Woman emerge from the waters, standing on an altar made of Crystal Beings. In the end, he is Man/Boy - the hero. In his last appearance, he would be lying on a tall bed, asleep. He would be surrounded by candles, plants and different objects to recreate a scene of a wake.

Several objects emerged from the character and its journey.

Man/Boy's Sacred Mantle Piece

Initially introduced in the video ‘Perception is Wild’ (2009) as a gift from the 5 Old Ladies to the Man/Boy, the mantle has since reappeared in different actions and sequels. Gradually developed over a period of several years, the mantle was produced using digital printing on canvas, in a succession of layers, forming an amalgamation of complex elements, based on a process of painting with markers. Designed to be worn on the body, crystals were added to the mantle at a later period, which thereby expanded the energetic traces that the material itself preserves.
