Anti-House HQ

Anti-House is an artist-led organization that asks what happens when art becomes a way of reorganizing how we meet, relate, and belong. Founded by artist Luísa Mota, Anti-House grows from her artistic practice and creates the conditions for projects to move beyond the studio—into neighborhoods, communities, institutions, and public space.

Anti-House is less interested in building a fixed institution than in building situations. It operates as a slow architecture: changing shape in response to each place, project, and group of people it encounters. Through participatory projects, workshops, exhibitions, residencies, publishing, and collaborative formats, Anti-House explores the often invisible structures that shape collective life: who is seen, who belongs, the roles we inhabit, and what becomes possible when those roles are disturbed.

Its work develops through long-term relationships with people and place. From community projects in Lisbon and workshops across Portugal and abroad, to its headquarters in central Porto, Anti-House brings artists, cultural workers, educators, social practitioners, and communities into processes of experimentation and exchange.
