Information

Anti-House is an artistic organization created to facilitate, articulate, and amplify the artistic projects of Luísa Mota within community contexts. More than a conventional structure, Anti-House is a situated creation platform that breaks away from traditional institutional models — a “house turned inside out” where the foundational values are displacement, listening, and the reinvention of social bonds.

The organization hosts and promotes collaborations between a diverse range of artists and cultural agents with experience in social and educational practices, working across community settings and in partnership with NGOs, governmental bodies, private entities, and cultural institutions. Its work unfolds through transdisciplinary projects that blend art, pedagogy, and activism, activating both local and global networks.

Grounded in participatory art practices and critical thought, Anti-House embraces collective creation processes that emerge from territories marked by invisible tensions — social, symbolic, or ecological. Its projects function as performative rituals that investigate the construction of identity, power, and care through archetypal characters, public actions, and collaborative methodologies.

Currently based in Porto, Portugal, and operating nomadically and globally, Anti-House offers not just an artistic practice, but a way of being in the world: in constant transformation, between intimate and the collective, between routines and rituals, between art and life.
